I’ve always believed that it’s important to be flexible, especially when you’re doing ministry.  And especially when you’re doing ministry on the rez!  Last night, I made my rounds picking up girls at “the Rec” (the Recreation Center) in Fort Totten, then over to Warwick, and back to Tokio.  I had planned to show a Bible study DVD about the influence of music, but the TV/DVD player was locked in a church room and I didn’t have the key.  Pastor Larry wasn’t home, but I talked to his daughter who said that they had a key, but she didn’t have a car to bring it to me.  She gave me directions to their house and I went to pick up the key . . . but it turned out the key wasn’t there either!  I had to kind of laugh as I drove away with no key.  In a strange way, I actually enjoy the challenge and adventure of the ever-changing, last-minute Bible study plans!  Plan B involved the usual (snacks and hanging out), plus sharing things that we are thankful for and reading Psalm 66 and Psalm 67.

Some of the things that made the “What I’m Thankful For” list were:

  • “family and friends”

  • “my arms and my mom”

  • “the pew that I’m laying on”

  • “chips and pop”

  • “that we live on Earth”

In the end, I’m always thankful for Plan B and how the Lord changes things up.  Keeps life exciting and me flexible. 😉

Hope you all have a very blessed Thanksgiving!  I am thanking the Lord for each of YOU.
