I am thankful that the Lord works in the hearts of people when we see it AND when we don’t.
This past Sunday afternoon, several of us headed over to the Tokio housing units and had an outdoor sharing time. The Tokio church owns a building on the very edge of the housing area, so that’s where we set up . . . the chairs and sound equipment were outside and the hot dogs and chips were inside. 😉 Loretta had her guitar and she got people’s attention by singing a couple of songs and inviting them to come and join us. Very few actually walked over to where we were set up, but windows opened, people came out to sit on their decks, and heads popped out from behind doors, so we knew that we had an “audience.” There was also a small group of high school kids (some who came with me and some who came with Pastor Paul from the Dakota Baptist Church in Fort Totten) sitting in the chairs that we had set up. We (Loretta, Paula, Matt, Pastor Larry, Pastor Paul, and me) spent time singing and sharing testimonies about the power of Jesus Christ. Like I said, the Lord works in hearts whether we see it or not and we believe that He was speaking.
Matt.4:13 quotes Isaiah 9:1-2 about the people of Galilee:
“the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”
I believe that the people to whom you are ministering are in great darkness and I pray that as all of you reach out they will see a great light, Jesus in you, Jesus the light of the world.
