I feel like I’ve been living in my car and at basketball games these past few days . . . both Warwick and Four Winds were playing at the District Tournament in Devils Lake, so I’ve been to 5 basketball games in 3 days! Basketball is always a big deal around here, but especially now when it’s tournament time. It really becomes a community event, even for people who don’t have a connection to any certain team. I grew up going to the Class B basketball games and still really enjoy it, especially now that it’s part of getting involved in this new community. It’s crazy how many people I run into, start to recognize, or get to know just from being at the games. The games have provided opportunities to spend more time with some of the kids from my Wednesday-night group, too. I’ve had at least one of the girls with me at the District games these past few days, getting DQ ice cream before the game, cheering our hearts out at the game, and running quick errands after the game . . . it’s great. Four Winds placed 2nd in the District (they lost by 3 last night in the championship game) and Warwick placed 3rd, so they will both play in the Regional Tournament next week. Looking forward to more time in the stands with the rest of the fans! Please pray that the Lord will continue to use these events to build relationships in the community and with individuals.
