I confessed to a friend (and faithful blog reader) today that I haven’t done a very good job of keeping up with my blog…she agreed with me quickly and I figured that it was time to get to the computer and give you a quick update!

Last week, one of the girls from the Tokio Youth Group was here helping in the kitchen.  She spent a week here earlier this summer as a camper, so working as kitchen help was Week #2 for her.  The kitchen ladies loved having her here…she worked hard and really seemed to enjoy it!  She also really seemed to enjoy the evening services, soaking it up like a little sponge.  Several different times during the week, I saw her sitting at a table with the speaker, him with his Bible open and her asking questions about faith in Christ.  The grace of God is so evident in her life…praise Him with me!

Tomorrow is the official start of the camp break for the 4th of July.  As of right now, my plan for break is to take a couple of girls to a Native Youth Conference in Missouri.  We’re planning to load up the van early on Wednesday morning and will be at the conference from July 3-8.

Please keep us in your prayers as we travel…ask the Lord to keep us safe as we drive, but also pray that the conversation in the van and the music we listen to as we drive would draw each of us closer to Christ.  Please pray that the Lord would continue to provide and take care of each detail as we go.  And mostly, ask the Lord to impact the lives of the Native youth who are attending this conference…ask Him to incline their hearts to Him and make each of them aware of their desperate need for Him.  Ask Him to give each of us glimpses of the hope that comes through faith in Him and His grace.

Thanks so much for your prayers (and patience) in this journey!

  2. Praying that in all aspects of this trip God will be glorified in and through you and that each one who attends will learn to love and enjoy Him better.

Also, Naomi, don’t forget that you need to rest now and them!

    Love you!
