It seems that the Lord so often teaches me through conversations. I thrive on communication and I love to learn by hearing and observing others’ experiences. I’d love to share some of these conversations with you, as well, so I just created a new “blog category” called Conversations. My intent is to share pieces of different conversations with you so that you can gain a clearer understanding of the people that I love here at Spirit Lake and so that you can know better how to pray.
I had a conversation yesterday with a young Native woman who I have known for many years. She is a new mom with a tender heart and a sharp mind. She shared with me quite a bit about the Sun Dance and the different rituals and objects used in the Sun Dance. Some of her family is involved with these traditional practices, but she is hesitant. She also shared with me last night that she wants to follow Christ and live for Him. She is caught between her family’s traditional beliefs and her own desire to be obedient to Christ. Please pray for this young lady as she looks for answers and seeks to follow the Lord. Ask Him to protect her (emotionally, physically, and spiritually) and give her wisdom and courage.
