The school year activities are winding down…this is the last week of school for most of the kids in the area, so there are all kinds of field trips, ice cream parties, and end-of-the-year festivities (which makes for a busy/crazy week!). Tomorrow is our last Wednesday-night youth group before summer break, so we’re planning to have a bonfire, s’mores, and some sharing time. Please keep the youth in your prayers, especially over the summer months when they don’t have the structure of school…ask the Lord to protect them and shape them.
In the midst of all of the winding down, we are also gearing up for camp to start (!!!). Friday is the last day of school and Monday is the first day of camp activity, so there’s not much transition time. I am looking forward to having kids, both from the Wednesday-night youth group and school, at camp this summer. Even as I am typing this (I’m at the school), some of the kids are asking about coming to camp. Please pray that the Lord will make a way for the kids to get to camp…transportation is often a challenge for most of them. Ask the Holy Spirit to pursue these kids and make their hearts ready to hear from Him.
We would also appreciate your prayers for us as staff. We have a full-time, all-summer staff of about 20 people, plus a team of volunteer staff each week. Please ask the Lord to give peace and confidence as we look to Him before all else…ask Him to equip us, sustain us, protect us, and unite us as we minister together. Also, there are still some camp needs and details to figure out, but we know that the Lord is faithful to provide. Trust Him and thank Him with us!
Winding down and gearing up…I’m going to buckle up and enjoy the ride. 😉 Time and internet access are more limited once I’m in the camp schedule and atmosphere, but I’ll do my best to keep you posted!
Thanks so much for your continued prayers and support!
