I am often amazed at how fast the Lord can move and make things happen…
Wednesday
If you read the last post, you know that the Lord answered our prayers in a huge way by bringing several of the boys back to the Wednesday-night Bible study in Tokio. After Bible study that night, I met Kenny, a young man who already knows the Lord and is setting a powerful example by living for Christ on the reservation. He has a desire for the Lord to use him and seems to be craving interaction with other believers in Christ.
Thursday
Matthew and I drove over to Tokio to see Kenny and spend some time with him. We spent the evening talking about living for the Lord and doing ministry on the rez . . . we all share a vision to reach the Native youth for Jesus! We also found out that Kenny wants to get involved with the radio program here on the reservation. Matthew has also gotten involved with that, so we invited Kenny to come with us the next time we were going.
Friday
The radio station was having technical difficulties and had been down all week. It was back up and running on Friday afternoon, so Matthew and I made plans to meet Kenny at the station. We were there waiting when Kenny called to tell me that he was on his way and that he had one of the youth group boys with him (!!!). As I was hanging up the phone, the man from the radio station came to tell me that he had to leave, so we wouldn’t be able to record our radio stuff. This was without a doubt part of the Lord’s plan! Instead of doing radio stuff that evening, the four of us went into town and had pizza, sharing stories about how the Lord had changed our lives. The young man who came with Kenny shared that he has a desire to “make better choices” and wants to live differently. It was incredible to see how his heart was softened and ready for truth and it was incredible to listen as Matthew and Kenny reached out to him and encouraged him. The Lord is in control and nothing is impossible with Him!
The Lord is doing some amazing things here . . . please continue to pray! I have no doubt that the enemy is upset that this territory and these people are being reclaimed for Jesus Christ. John 10:10 says that the theif seeks to steal, kill, and destroy and he’s trying to do that here. Please continue to intercede for us and ask the Lord to protect us and the work that He is doing here! Ask Him to strengthen us and give us His wisdom and we speak the truth of Jesus Christ to Spirit Lake Nation!
