I was talking to a friend today who got after me for not writing an update sooner . . . so here it is! 😉
It took about half-an-hour to get that first sentence written as I’ve been jumping between the computer, the printer, and the copier getting programs, scripts, and music ready for tomorrow’s Community Christmas program. This has without a doubt been the week of craziness . . . some good and some bad, but I believe that the Lord has it all under control. I’m choosing to trust Him and literally “not worry about tomorrow”! It’s been neat to see how things with the program have morphed over the past few days. I have some very dear friends who are standing with me and have agreed to help out last-minute (you guys are amazing), so that has been a huge blessing. I really am curious about what the Lord is up to with all of these last-minute changes . . . I suppose I won’t realize it fully in this life, but I’ll keep you posted with what I do find out!
This week has been a bit of a blur due to all of the activity, but highlights include:
- One-on-one reading with the little 1st grade boy–One day while we were going over new words, he saw the word “save” and was proud to inform me “…that word is in my Bible.” Precious.
- Bringing two “new” girls to Youth Group on Wednesday–One of them was the girl who I was so happy to run into last week at the basketball game . . . and both of them are girls who have been to camp at Fahocha!
- Youth Group Christmas party–It was our last Wednesday-night gathering until after Christmas break, so we watched The Nativity and had old-fashioned popcorn (popped in a kettle on the stove), cookies, apple cider, and hot chocolate. Pastor Larry, Darla, and some of their family joined us, too . . . they usually have other responsibilities on Wednesdays, so it was really nice to have them with us.
Plenty of other things going on, but tomorrow’s another busy day and I need to get some rest. I appreciate your support and prayers so much, dear friends. I am continually blessed by your kind emails, comments, and encouragement. The Lord has been so good to me…
…But I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more. My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day, for I do not know their limits. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness…of Yours only… Psalm 71:14-16
