Many of you are probably familiar with the AWANA program that takes place on Wednesday evenings in churches all over the world.  I have a very dear friend who gave her life to the Lord at AWANA when she was just 7 years old.  She has a beautiful depth of faith to this day and I am often amazed to think about the starting point of her faith.

 

Today (and every Wednesday after school) Paula will have anywhere between 5 and 10 kids at her house.  These kids all go to school in Oberon and live on the Spirit Lake reservation.  Paula will feed them supper and help them study their AWANA verses.  At 6:00pm, Paula will help them gather their AWANA bags and books and will get them all loaded into her vehicle.  Then she will drive them 18 miles to Maddock where these kids will get to play games, say Bible verses, get hugs, and learn about Jesus.  For many of these kids, this is the only regular "church activity" that they will participate in during the week.  After AWANA, Paula will drive about 45 miles to get each one of these kids back to their homes.

 

I am so thankful for Paula and her willingness to get these kids to AWANA . . . the Lord is using her in a powerful way to speak truth to these kids!!  Please pray for her and her ministry.  Ask the Lord to continue to strengthen her and encourage her as she serves Him in this way!
