This Wednesday I leave for New Mexico!
Joe and Sue Rogers, who head up the Native American ministry at AIM, have put together a training weekend for people from different parts of the USA who are all involved with Native American ministry. The training will be held February 11-16 at the Navajo Brethren in Christ mission base near Bloomfield, NM. I’m really looking forward to the time there with others who are doing hands-on ministry with Native Americans and I’m excited about the nation-wide team that I believe the Lord is building. Here’s what Joe had to say about it a recent email:
Even beyond the training itself, I think this is all about something even bigger. I still believe we are about to draw together a team of men and women, Native and Anglo, leaders and staff, who will be more than just the sum of its parts. I believe the Father wants us to band together in a brotherhood on this common ground – love for Jesus and love for people (Matt. 22:37-40), and a call to join Him in His work among American Indians.
Pastor Larry from the Tokio church will also attend this training. Please keep us in your prayers while we are there! Ask the Holy Spirit to anoint each session and saturate all that is said and done while we are there. I think that both Pastor Larry and I will be involved in leading some of the sessions, so ask the Lord to direct each thought and every word that we share. Like I said, I’m excited to see what the Lord will do!
